As Liverpool claimed a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United Marcus Rashfords opener was cancelled out by adam Lallana with a Attack.
Which players shone and which struggled?
David de Gea – 7
United feared he wouldnt be accessible afterwards he suffered an injury scare but his addition came as a welcome increase. When called upon, giving a controlling presence behind the defence did well, and could do little to stop Liverpools equaliser.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6
Back at the negative with missed Uniteds past 3 games. Solid performance crosses in the first half, but undid a lot of his good work when he failed to get close to Andrew Robertson for Liverpools leveller.
Victor Lindelof – 6
Perhaps fortunate not to be penalised for a foul in the accumulation to the objective. Outmuscled from Sadio Mane at a point from the first half, however, the Liverpool guys effort was ruled out for a handball. Allowed Robertsons cross to run to Lallana for Liverpools goal.
Harry Maguire – 7
An operation in the core of the back three. It is a system in which England has been polished with by him and that he benefitted from the excess protection about him at Old Trafford. Made more clearances (10) than any other player but could not stop the equalising goal.
Marcos Rojo – 6
A late inclusion after Axel Tuanzebe endured an accident. Grew after a few awkward moments in the early phases, but, like Lindelof, he had been culpable for Liverpools equaliser when he didnt cut out Robertsons cross.
Ashley Young – 6
Succeeded in pinning back Trent Alexander-Arnold for long periods, keeping the Liverpool man in which he is very dangerous, but appeared to switch off to the visitors equaliser, leaving Lallana liberated to convert from close selection.
Scott McTominay – 7
Continues to increase in stature midfield. Sent played a significant part in the goal of United, releasing Daniel James to cross Rashford and passes astray sometimes, but not shying away from accepting responsibility. A battling presence of the team, making some clearances and interceptions.
Fred – 6
Offered energy and effort in midfield, trying a few shots on target and covering lots of ground, but there were a few moments of miscontrol and sloppy touches. Out of being a 52m player, the Brazilian looks some way.
Andreas Pereira – 7
Thrust in the No 10 position and, although he made bad decisions sometimes, twice deciding to take when he ought to have passed from the first half, he also labored tirelessly – winning possession more times (10) than any of his team-mates – and had some eye-catching attacking moments also.
Daniel James – 8
Pushed into a part alongside Rashford and adapted nicely to the position. Created the goal, choosing Rashford having a cross out following a driving. Took a few knocks at the second half but soldiered on.
Marcus Rashford – 8
Came having scored in his past nine games for United, but will also expect to use this performance as a turning point. His motion for the goal was outstanding along with his confidence came flooding back then. Received a standing ovation when he had been substituted.
SUBS
Anthony Martial – 5
Came for Rashford to make his first appearance. Had time to affect the game, though touching the ball three days.
Brandon Williams – 5
Replaced Pereira at the closing stages but, like Martial, had little time to create any kind of impact.
Alisson Becker – 6
The blank sheet which was needed but the Brazilian would do little to avoid the target of Rashford was not brought by long-awaited return from injury and was not examined after that. Signs of the distribution abilities that Liverpool have come to rely on their goalkeeper.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 5
Struggled to get to grips with Manchester United system, not understanding just how much he should press forward. The result was that many of the crosses came from heavy and his decision-making only got worse. Surrendered ownership 33 occasions.
Virgil van Dijk – 6
Hurried by the Manchester United early , being thrown onto his butt by Rashford. This was indicative of a unusual Liverpool performance. Dealt with most of that which came his way but could have been more ambitious on the chunk and could not prevent the goal.
Joel Matip – 5
Figuring out by Rashford movement for the goal and this is outing to the group for the centre-back on his own return. Up against two quicker than him, there were bound to be a few moments as Liverpool chased it but that he got through it.
Andrew Robertson – 6
Came up to deny Manchester United a clear shot out of a free-kick that was first-half and revealed his determination. Got forward from the second half and it had been his low cross which set up the equaliser.
Fabinho – 5
The effects of that and uncharacteristically littered with his job were important since Liverpool just did not seem like the team. Hes become the epitome of composure in this last 12 months, explained Gary Neville on co-commentary. He cant get away a pass. Enriched after the rest.
Georginio Wijnaldum – 6
Just midfielder to come across any area from the first half also revealed a few minutes of quality but it was a tough evening for the Dutchman. As Liverpool went back in the 19, was pulled in favour of Naby Keita.
Jordan Henderson – 5
Covered ground than another Liverpool player in the first half and has been typically secure but for just a single diagonal cross into the head of Roberto Firmino which found the forwards just offside. Was moved out into the best for a span in the next half.
Sadio Mane – 6
Moved to the best for the first half and posed the best danger to the Manchester United defence, setting Firmino with a fantastic opening up. He thought hed equalised simply to see it disallowed for handball. Moved throughout the pitch at the second half seeking space.
Roberto Firmino – 6
Struggled to contact the ball early on and was wasteful in front of goal. Also 10, A shot with his left foot. A effort with his right foot once. But the service was poor. Missed Mohamed Salah as much as anybody in the Liverpool team.
Divock Origi – 5
Came into the side for only his third party Premier League beginning of the season – and his first since mid-September – at the absence of Salah and looked bright early on as he twice tested Victor Lindelof. Missing his way a bit before being substituted, then.
SUBS
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 5
Brought on as Liverpool, tried to be harder and might have won the match for the off side but his shot was the wrong aspect of the post.
Adam Lallana – 7
His first target since 2017 proved a significant one, tapping in at the far post to make the most of Robertsons low cross. Played after that with real confidence.
Naby Keita – 6
Played his part to the equaliser in the build up and decided to the attacking play of Liverpool with his more incisive departure since the visitors dominated the latter stages.
